Replica of the Celtic CrossThis was a reconstituted stone copy of the cross at Whitby made for St Hildas School in Australia, who have educational links with Whitby. The moulding of the original involved the erection of a weather proof structure around the cross on the headland above Whitby and a very demanding silicon rubber mould taken from the original in situ. (Not a job to be repeated in a hurry due in the main to Yorkshire climate and the adverse effect it has on the cure time of both rubber and GRP) |
