Stable scene - Life at the Bishops Palace One of a series of 5 budget conscious dioramas showing aspects of medieval life at the Bishops Palace in Maidstone, Kent, UK. These small dioramas were made in false perspective with mono-chrome, ink wash 2-Dimensional constructional and secondary detail, whilst the main 'action' was modelled in 3D and finished in full colour. The dioramas were linked on dimming lights so that as visitors passed each one illuminated and faded in turn, thus drawing the public through a passage and into a further section of the Museum. see also: Medieval Apothecary
