Jason and the Argonauts Freeborns built the crew of the boat that you can see in this shot from the 1963 film Jason and the Argonauts. All the little men who rowed the boat were made at about 10" high and animated to move with the oars. In the shipwreck scene the 'little fellas' had their arms wound up and they then did a version of clockwork crawl. link: Movie info
