By this time I was on the scene, hindering most of my mother's attempts to maintain an active part in the
business. Some of my earliest childhood recollections are I suppose bizarre by most standards.
Dr. Who monster in the kitchen. Tales of the Riverbank 'Hammy' stealing my bedtime cocoa.
I am still not sure but I think, one night I came downstairs for a drink of milk to find the hall full
of a family of giant, and I mean giant, talking pandas (I must ask them about that).
I even remember a 12' long Python (yes it was called Monty) which had become the reference for a
clockwork snake being made for a film (Dr. Phibes I think).
Of course this also had the advantage of lending a certain credibility to me as a school boy amongst
my peers at any rate, when I could furnish information as to how to make bombs with actual timers as
used in the Great Train Robbery.
