The Rothschild Bank commissioned the example above. There was no bust of the bank's founder, Nathan Rothschild and, with the aid of two or three contemporary paintings, we were able to produce something in a style sympathetic to the period. Here a very good surface finish was required to represent the carved and polished marble. To achieve this we modelled an original and then cast, from a waste mould, a fibreglass inter-master. This allowed us to improve on the modelled surface to the point where a silicon rubber mould could be taken to produce the marble filled resin cast.
